After many, many hours of research and going back and forth I went with the Blendtec.

I think either way is a winner. I use my blendtec several times a day. It was a nice chunck of change, but we too are with out a cable bill (and TV), we do all the money saving things like you (wash dishes, hang clothes to dry) and it is paying off.

This is an investment in my family's nutrition and my time. I don't waste time chopping or hand blending when I can have one of my children put things in the blender and press a button. It's simple enough for a child to use and no fear of them braking it.

This high powered blender is saving us money in the long run. Why drink a juice box now that will cause problems later when my children are older when I can whip up a great green smoothie or green ice cream and continue to create a healthy pallet for my children in about the same time. :)

Hope your are enjoying your blender!Aprilhttp://www.blendersexpress.com/brand/vitamix/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1348024911170290265.post-8560242516244191682009-09-08T09:29:20.223-05:002009-09-08T09:29:20.223-05:00I have a stainless steel Vitamix from the 1980'...I have a stainless steel Vitamix from the 1980's. It works great! A friend gave it to me, but I have seen them on ebay for ~$100. I love that it is stainless steel and not plastic, too!Cindyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00770085805541543452noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1348024911170290265.post-10094146781910156052009-09-02T02:12:39.302-05:002009-09-02T02:12:39.302-05:00Mike, I still can't quite justify it right now...Mike, I still can't quite justify it right now. I'm saving my pennies though.

Emily, I'll check out the Tribest! One of the things I liked about the Breville was the food only touches glass and stainless steel. I think the Vita-mix is plastic because of the high speed (or so I've heard).VeganLindahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07265250979613207539noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1348024911170290265.post-66110139771512674082009-08-30T20:56:20.214-05:002009-08-30T20:56:20.214-05:00Linda --

And, you can get a canning jar attachment so you can do everything in glass. All this for under $100. However, it DOES NOT like to make hummus -- I still have to use the food processor for that since we make large batches. It could handle a smaller batch though.

EmilyEmily and Kithttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12933056347254909518noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1348024911170290265.post-48204145107264508242009-08-27T08:50:27.471-05:002009-08-27T08:50:27.471-05:00Hi Linda, I say, GO FOR THE VITAMIX! If it's in the budget, GO FOR IT! :)Meat-free Mikehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02922081595457266276noreply@blogger.com
