Interview - Vegan Four Year Old

Okay, last unedited interview with a real life vegan child. Our daughter, Josie.
VL: How are old are you?
J: I am four.
VL: How long have you been vegan?
J: Nine years, I've never been eating meat, forever I ate vegan.
VL: Why are you vegan?
J: Because the animals get hurt if you eat them. Because it hurts them really bad and they start to bleed and die. I don't like it that way. One more thing why we are vegan, we don't want to eat blood. One more reason, we don't want to hurt animals. Eating meat is not good for the environment. I want to be healthy.
VL: What is your favorite fruit?
J: Strawberries, blueberries, mangoes.

VL: What is your favorite vegetable?
J: Cauliflower and corn.
VL: Do you think you'll be vegan when you are older?
J: Yes, because I hate eating meat. Let's talk about when I was a baby. When I was a baby I only drank milk from my mom. Calves should drink milk from their moms.
VL: What is your favorite breakfast?
J: Everything.
VL: What is your favorite lunch?
J: Little pasta with a tunnel through it with yellow sauce and peas and carrots.
VL: What is your favorite dinner?
J: Spaghetti with red sauce.

VL: What is your favorite snack?
J: Nut butter and jelly sandwiches.
VL: What is your favorite insect?
J: Ladybugs.

VL: What is your favorite animal?
J: Every animal.
VL: What is your favorite restaurant?
J: Thai.
VL: What is your favorite physical activity?
J: Scootering.
VL: What is the hardest thing about being vegan?
J: Cleaning up my room.

VL: Do you have any advice for people who want to go vegan?
J: You have to not eat any meat, not any, any, any, any meat. Eat vegan like we do.

As with the interviews with her brothers, Parker and Dema, she is happy to answer any questions you might have.

Love it. I have a 4 year old daughter, so she speaks similarly to mine. Very cute. I interview my kids for their scrapbooks occasionally, but I have never done a "vegan" interview with them before.

So cute! I could totally hear J's voice, inflection, and speech patter in the answers. I laughed out loud that she thinks the hardest part about being vegan is cleaning up her room. Love it! :)

Ha, she is so funny. Does being vegan make room cleaning harder in some fashion? :)

Haha it was fun for me to do the interview. I love how she's been vegan for nine years, but she's only recently turned four...perhaps she is counting a past life? :-) The cleaning the room comment tickled me too. I will have to let her know children who are not vegan also clean their rooms and I don't think vegan children have dirtier rooms than their peers.
