Happiness is Black Raspberries

Well, technically, happiness is having wonderful generous neighbors who invite you to come pick black raspberries in their backyard. The kids enjoyed their black raspberry breakfast this morning. Lovely!Because we were curious and people have asked:

What is the difference between black raspberries and blackberries?

The most obvious difference is that a black raspberry is hollow -- the core of the fruit stays on the plant when it is picked, while the core stays in a blackberry. Black raspberry fruit are also smaller, less shiny. and have a bluish waxy coating between the sections of the berry.

Is Josie still stained? Looks like she enjoyed herself some raspberries. :-)

That picture of Josie reminds me of when I was a baby. We lived in the mountains of New Hampshire and our lawn was a blanket of wild blueberries. My mom used to set me down and let me eat as many as I wanted. I would be stained blue and very sticky, just like Josie!

She took a bath with Dema and it all came out...don't know if the clothes will be as lucky. The frontpage of my business http://triballife.net/ has a picture of Dema when he was little eating blueberries. We love to eat a mess of berries. Leeanthro, that sounds like a wonderful place to grow up!

I took my daughter to a concert in the park tonight with fresh blueberries in tow. I got a few looks from amused parents, but that that blue baby tooth smile was worth it.
