I was listening yesterday to one of my favorite local Saturday radio shows, "
From Bard to Verse" hosted by my friend Carl and his sidekick, Mindy. One of the poems read was Billy Collins' "
Lanyard" and I laughed and smiled for hours after. It kind of goes along with my thoughts turning to my mother lately so I thought I would share it with all of you before Dema wakes up and Easter/Spring celebration begins. Enjoy!

It's worth mentioning that the reader -- who knew that it was Billy Collins' birthday and chose the poem -- was local actor Lincoln Machula, who can be seen in the Station Theatre's production of The Lieutenant of Inishmore, thru April 5. I haven't seen it, but I'm told it's quite good. --Carl
Carl, Thanks for mentioning this. I didn't want to get anyone in trouble with copyrights and all that. :-) It was a great program, as usual. It is interesting that Lincoln reading the poem made me smile, but reading it again yesterday made me tear up. I love that about poetry.
I wish Josie was old enough to be without me or young enough to sleep through it so I could see the production. It sounds great.
